Talk with Ernest

A career connecting science
with operating decisions.

Ernest’s experience spans food safety, quality, manufacturing, validation, regulatory response, and technical education. His work brings laboratory evidence into the decisions made by food businesses.

His process-authority background includes thermal and non-thermal processing, acidified and low-acid foods, juices and beverages, dietary supplements, formulation controls, and combined-hurdle systems. Ultraviolet treatment and high-pressure processing are part of that wider practice.

Laboratory experience includes microbial isolation, enrichment, enumeration, and identification, along with PCR, immunoassay, chromatography, and instrumental analytical methods.

More than a decade of certificate-program development and adult-learning experience informs how technical concepts are taught, discussed, and applied.

Background and experience are described in the Institute’s published professional biography.
